Higgs Will Be Found Or Ruled Out In Twelve Months

According to "three scientists -- from Europe's CERN, the U.S. Fermilab and Japan's KEK" at a press conference at the end of last week, the Standard Model Higgs boson will either be discovered or ruled out experimentally by the Large Hadron Collider, in the next twelve months.

Previous estimates had put a Higgs discovery or exclusion as early as this month, but those predictions are looking optimistic.

The three scientists also said that "Both KEK and Fermilab will be involved in duplicating the [OPERA] experiment" and hope to have results within six months.
